All Inclusive Introductory Taster Course €65 including Firings

I will explain the process of how clay is crafted from its basic state into a piece of ceramic, this will cover a number of techniques and includes slab work at the bench followed by a break and then moving onto a wheel. The following session will see the item glazed and then the final session will be to pick up the finished ceramic

Practice sessions

Available to those previously attended and expand upon the foundations you learned in the intro sessions by gaining a better understanding for different clay bodies as a student you will learn more about wheel throwing or Hand building, texturing and more to create depth and be in control of your surface decoration, . PEASE NOTE - Additional clay can be purchased to create a larger piece at €5/kg

INDIVIDUAL One-to-One Wheel Work €85 2hours

Learn to throw pots on a potter’s wheel! This is a two-hour taster session, for one person. You will receive as much or as little direct assistance as you need in order to help you to succeed. if you wish for you piece to be Glazed and Fired there will be a charge of €5 you can choose the glaze of your choice. It will then will be ready for collection within 3-4 weeks

Hand Building Only €55 2hours

Hand building pottery is where walled pieces are formed together through slip and score. Hand building is a technique of ceramics where one forms clay with hands and simple tools instead of the wheel. I have a minimum of 5 students at each session to enable me to give you my give you my maximum attention, If you wish for your piece to be glazed and fired there will be a charge of €5 you can choose the the glaze of your choice, they will be ready for collection within 3-4 weeks.

PreBuilt Bisque Glazing or Painting

The studio has pre made Bisqued items individually priced from €8 and ready for glazing and firing or for those preferring not to wait and wish to take away the same day we can do the acrylic painting. You will need to pay for the studio time in addition to the individual piece. COST: € each bisque + €15/ADULT, - €12/CHILD - €50/FAMILY UPTO 4

Firings - That are Included in Klasses

For those who want to keep and progress to the next level where you turn your creation from a simple clay artefact into a personally decorated piece then the item must be firstly bisque fired (to around 1000C) to harden it to the point that it can be decorated. Once this is completed it can be decorated with glazes and is again fired to over 1000C to transform the clay into a ceramic. Each firing requires time to dry, scheduling into the kiln and therefore take up to around a week each firing.
